La Paz’s Museum (Museo Regional de Antropologia y Historia de Baja California Sur) is located at the intersection of Altamirano and 5 De Mayo (click for map), The Museum is open from 9am to 6pm, daily. There are thousands of artifacts, memorabilia, photographs, geological samples, artists’ renderings, model replicas, historic flags and military hardware; the Museum presents a comprehensive picture of the development of Baja Sur from geological, archaeological and anthropological perspectives.

From time to time, there are “visiting exhibits,” but the Museum is devoted to the Baja. Although the majority of the explanations are in Spanish, the staff is extremely knowledgeable, always ready to answer your questions. Staff guided tours are also available – lasting approximately one hour. A great way to see the museum, and other sights, is to take a tour of La Paz with one of the local tour services. These photographs were taken on a tour conducted by Eduardo (owner of Eduardo’s Tours).
